1935 Dodge truck?

Is the 2nd series 35 the only year that Dodge made the long wheel base pick up? KCL-119" wheel Base.

Unable to find the part# for the long bed for 33 to 35 1st series. Only 35 2nd series.

I have a KC 35 first series 119" wheel base pickup. It is the only 33-early 35 long wheel base pickup I have ever seen. I have a 34 KC Commercial Canopy that I assumed was a 119" when I got it but it is actually a 111 1/4.

According to my parts book, the 73" bed was not available till the 2nd series came out. Do you have a build card for this truck? We have a KCL 35 2nd series p/u. Love to get more info and pictures of your truck.

I don't have a build card. Here is firewall tag. The list show early and late kcl's as well as hcl's but I assume those were all humpback panels. It shows January 34 thru February 35 and February 35 thru October 35. According to the serial number my KCL falls in the February thru October 35. Just going by the serial number it shows yours as a short wheel base . Don't read too much in to it because my Sedan Delivery and my sreenside start with a 9 which would be a 34 KCL according to this list.

This one doesn't split the kc and kcl up it just shows the serial number spans. Makes more sense than the other list. They both have } the second one just shows the Canadian numbers.

It would be interesting to get a build card from Chrysler for this truck. Looking at the parts book dated June 1935, no parts for KCL p/u before Feb 1935. Also no parts for, express, Canopy and the Screen for the KCL. Just for the KC,K and KH. If your truck was built as a KCL p/u, that would be a very rare truck!!! 35 2nd series KCL is rare itself.

Just sold fenders to another customer that has a 1st series 1935 KCL p/u. That makes 2? He is going to apply for a build card.

9 indicates a CA build and 8 would have been built in Detroit.

I was going to chime in with that comment. It is a Canadian built truck possibly built in Toronto by Graham Brothers just before Chrysler moved all it's assembly to Windsor,1935 was the cusp year.  Interesting that the firewall plate  says U.S. built. Dave is correct. 1935 U.S. built in Hamtramkc ,like my KCL one of 10 ordered for a Canadian department store,, would have an 8 million number.

The Toronto plant on Dufferin Street was closed in 1929 or 1930 and Dodge truck production moved to the old Maxwell plant on Tecumseh and McDougall in Windsor, Ontario.  Dodge Brothers car production moved to Windsor in 1929 when the new plant at Tecumseh and what is now Chrysler Centre opened.  The Toronto plant was used by Chrysler Canada as a parts plant for a couple of years after truck production ended.  It was torn down in the 1970's, I believe. 

The six-digit serial numbers adopted in 1931 had US-built Dodge, Fargo and DeSoto trucks trucks using serial numbers from 8,000,001 to 8,900,000 while Canadian-built Dodge trucks were 8,900,001 and up.  Evansville used 9,000,001 to 9,200,000 for cars and trucks while California was 9,200,001 to 9,300,000.  Canadian-built Fargo trucks used serial numbers from 9,550,001 to 9,599,999.

Your truck's serial number is 9,204,602 which means it was built at Los Angeles, California.   California-built Dodge Trucks from 1931 through to about 1946 used serial numbers from 9,200,001 to 9,300,000, with the exception of the 1941 WD-15 which used 9,199,001 to 9,199,890.  

Evansville-built Dodge trucks used serial numbers in the span 9,000,001 to 9,199,000.   Evansville-built Plymouth cars and trucks also had serial numbers in that span from 1936 through 1941 as well as 1937 Evansville-built Dodge cars.
