Chevy or Buick?

Definitely a 1940 Buick convertible, well accessorized with bumper tips & guards and Driving Lights (bet he has an exhaust deflector too, and a "Necker's Knob")-

The guy is wearing white shoes, and the gal is in a classy white linen dress

a Chevy guy would likely be well dressed also, but maybe a bit less so?

My favorite!

Red & White, please,

and looks like the pic is taken at Mt Washington Motor Hotel,

where the Glidden Tour was based in 1998,

as well as one of the earliest Gliddens  - (1905?)

OOPS !

I stand corrected. Having toured to both Mt Washington, as well as Mackinac multiple times on AACA and VMCCA tours,

I mixed them up -

Two grand old hotels,

and many thanks to those who graciously noted my error

Similar construction to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, but seems reversed.  This is an old photo of the Mt. Washington Hotel:

If I'm correct, Buick had to pull some strings to get this picture. That appears to be the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island - where cars are NOT allowed.  Can anyone confirm this?

I quite sure that's it.  The picture, when found on the net, mentioned MI and Makinac.  Yes, some strings had to be pulled.  No vehicles are permitted on the island.

No vehicles unless you consider bicycles and horse drawn carts/wagons.  (There is an ambulance and a fire engine.) I've been there a few times, well worth the trip. The Grand Hotel is so popular, you have to pay to even get on the property to take a picture.

Compositionally, this is a great photograph! The contrast and focus of the car is outstanding and the balance between the highlights and dark areas is well done.

Old guy with no shirt on doesn't do the photo much good but who am I to criticize?
