Stutz in the UK
Just wondered if I am missing something with my Model 1917 Model RThe car drives well and runs well and I am currently running in a (new) completly rebuilt engine. I have not experemented with the additional control on the steering column (just under the choke). Am I right that this is the additional mixture control? Does this knob open another barrel in the carb? When should I consider using it?Any tips on driving greatfully receivedThanks
Ivan Saxton
If your car has a Stromberg O3 carbas later detacheable T-heads of the early 1920s do, it may be a supplementary mixture adjustment control that some , but I think not all, O3s had. On Roamer Duesenbergs with this carb, there is a second wire cable control to this beside the choke. My Roamer is nowhere near ready for road use and not tuned and sorted-out, but it runs well enough to give visitors an interesting ride between the workshop and the house with a fair gradient between. If there is mostly summer weather fuel mix in the tank when it is cold, I usually need to run with the auxilliary control out or partly out. Stutz in the UK
This post should be a picture of the Carb I have fitted to my 1917 Stutzs/7/8/5/5/4/web38.jpgThe extra (mixture) control I am requesting information about is the connection to the top left (wire) Regards Dave
