Guest Silverghost
It would appear that old Earl's family tried to run the company for a number of years after he died~~~~ A few years back the Scheib family sold-out to a former basketball player & another guy who was a hot-shot Las Vegas casino gambler. They immediately raised all the prices while at the same time lowering the overall paint job quality~~~There was a high turn-over with staff in later years~ The company finally went belly-up last mid July. These two above "investors" are now selling-off the real estate of over 170 US locations ! Earl Scheib started this company in the mid 1930s !He had locations in Europe and in 200 US locations~~~ All Scheib company owned. As stated in a post above he had his own paint manufacturing company also ! Old Earl must have done something right to have lasted all those years ! All this above info from a Google and Wiki search~~~
