Wow, some beautiful Rivis on here, I am new here but I see some guys I recognize from the HAMB (SIC98), I have a 65 non GS I bought from the original owner, it sat in her garage since 82, it was bought brand new at Raymond Buick in Long Island NY and brought to sunny FLA in the mid 70's for a "winter car", but after 5 years and a TON of money, the engine, drivetrain, and interior are all there, next up is the body work and paint, Regal Black of course, here are some pics. Not usually big on most Custom 65 Rivs, but I like that one.

Like that JL Audio system as well.

Thank you, I appreciate your comment.

Is this Richard Carpenter's car? Sure looks like it. Love this car.

No this is not Richard's car. I have been to his place many times over the years and his car is a fairly nice example.

It's not in bad shape, it has had a repaint that is peeling off and some of the bodywork is popping but I will work on that as I go. I've always liked these cars and am glad to get the chance to own one.

Heeeey guys!

I am new to this forum and new to classic cars in general. Bought this beauty a month back and had it shipped to the other side of the world, Oman, Middle east.

suprisingly it has the riviera owners association sticker on its rear glass. It would be interesting if anyone of you know its previous owner and history! :)

Glad to be around you lot, seems like i will be learning quiet a lot around here!

This is my beautiful 1964 Riviera 465 that I bought at an auction just a few weeks ago from the estate of the late owner. It was garage kept all its life and the original 1st and only owner never drove it to work (he rode the bus) or in the rain. He made people put cardboard down on the floor mats if their shoes were wet or dirty. His older 90's something sister even said he told people not to talk too much so you won't steam up the windows (I wonder how that worked for his wife?!?). He kept a log of everything he ever did to it whether running the engine for 5 minutes, driving it to the store, oil changes and he even kept track of when he filled it with gas, the gallons and the price. It is absolutely beautiful and I made a promise to him that he can be my co-pilot anytime (he flew airplanes and served on the USS Wasp a WWII aircraft carrier) and that I would take care of his Rivi.

Nice Story. Congratulations. Thats some serious documentation. Log any verbal information that was passed on about the car no matter how small and keep it with the other documents. WWII vets are becoming more scarce and it would be a priveledge to become the caretaker for that car. So how many miles are on it?

My 63. I'm going to be swapping the original 401 for a 65 401 bored 030, Balanced with a 340hp cam and a 65 trans. The original motors good and so is the trans but, it was gonna cost me more to freshen it up than what i paid for the new motor and the 65 400 trans is a lot better. After that, a new exhaust that hugs the frame and 2 inch drop springs.

Beside that, Everything was original when I bought it. Original hub caps and the US royal tire on the spare (Which is hanging up now) Its a little dry. At some point the original owner must have had the heads worked on and they painted em green. The factory silver is coming through and the block and pan are still factory silver. I've driven this car from LA to Dearborn, Mi and back. Its my daily driver and I love it.

Anyone know of a good exhaust shop around LA?

Looks great Rob. I would love to build my motor like a GS but, The parts are so pricey. And so much of the after market stuff (I've heard= Intakes) are not that good.

Beautiful car thou.

Beautiful car. Nice work

Last week the car had to go back to the painters for some touch ups and we corrected the the vents near the wipers by painting them and I had the antenna deleted.
