Bill Stoneberg
I THINK that the crank changed in 1964 when they changed from the Dynaflow to the st400 and I think it stayed the same till the end of the nailhead engines. So, I THINK you may be OK. Where you will have issues is in the crank though, take a caliper and measure the pilot holes and see.
RivNut
The 64 - 66 cranks all use the same flexplate. You can bolt the '66 engine up to your '64 trans with no problems; just use the 64's intake, carb, and kickdown linkage. This list of casting numbers from Buicks.net shows the same casting numbers were used from '63 - 66 for the 425's. 64 - 66 401/425 cranks are all the same. Bolt 'er up.1340146 63-66 425 1354704 63-66 425 1354713 64-66 425 1354714 64-66 425 1364704 63-66 425 1364705 64-66 401/425 Ed
