Guest oakland
I would like to change the lower stainless trim piece that goes from behind the rear wheel to the rear bumper on my 63 Riviera. I would immagine there is a special tool that is used to remove the trim, which I do not have. Is there a way to remove the trim without damaging the trim piece or the paint on the car? I would appreciate any info. Thanks
MOcarGuy
The molding has plastic clips holding it on, I think you need to remove or at least loosen the wheel house molding abit 1st. Slide a clean Thin paint scraper between molding and paint on bottom side and slide a screw driver between the molding and the scaper to gentlly pry off. You will have to slide the the scraper a bit to release all the clips, there are 3 or 4. The clips will either release from the molding or comme out of the slots in the fender, easy does it!!! It would be a good idea to grease the scraper a little bit to protect paint
