Guest
I recently picked up an old oil lantern.
Its has one red lens about 6" in dia. and
one small white lens on the side.
its says "Edmunds and J****" Detorit Mich.
on the top. Looks like it it might say ford in the middle od the top but i,m not sure.
Its has one threaded rod out the back for mounting. Any ideas where I could look to get info on old auto lanterns. Terry Bond
Sounds like its for a Model T and with the large red lens it would be a tail light. It wont hurt to clean it up and put in on your book shelf as its a fairly common item. Its probably all steel right? If it has a brass top and door (the ring around the big lens) its for a 1915 Model T and would be a little harder to come by. Otherwise it fits the later T's.
Terry
