Guest Tbird55
Hello I am considering front and rear anti-sway bars to a 1955 TBird, and at the same time removing the tiny original shock absorbers and replacing them with a heavier duty, larger size Koni. I will take the shocks front and rear off the car to match these to heavier spec Koni, but I am emailing to ask if anyone has done modifications to their 55 Tbird in this area. I would be pleased to hear what was done to the car. Also any suggestions from other owners in regard to these proposed modifications, be pleased to receive themThanks and regardsTBird55
miker98038
I did that several years ago, using the bars and gas shock kits from one of the Tbird suppliers. It's a worthwhile"driver" modification in my opinion. Not for a concours car. I don't know what if any Koni shocks would fit the bird. I've used them and liked them on other cars, but took the easy way out on the bird.
paul2748
I think any good gas shock (like KYB) will suffice, without the Koni price. The anti sway bars are a good idea.
