39 chevy horn

I see one wire at the bottom of the steering column that is for the horn. when I take the steering wheel off there is no wire. where does the wire on the bottom go to and how does this horn work.

On the 1929 chevrolet tourer the wire goes part way up the steering columnand thae you have the wire stop. 1 inch away is the earth contact. From the horn button you pprobably have a u shape wire that joins the wire to the earth. Look under the horn button. Phil
