63 Red Riv
Looking for a Tire Jack for a 63 Riviera. Would any jack from that period work or is there something unique for the Riviera? Thanks in advance,Brian
RivNut
The jack for the '63 Riviera is sort of unique. Rather than a big cradle hooking under the bumper, a tab on the jack fits into a slot on the bumper. Ed

RivNut
Sure; probably as good a place as any. You might also call some of the guys who are parting out cars as well and see what they may have.Ed

RivNut
63 and 64 are the same. Having never owned a '65, I can't say.Ed
Guest Kaber
Ed is right the Riviera jack is kind of unique. I found a jack for a early 70's A body (Chevelle, LeMans, Cutlass...) It has a similar tab, with a rubber pad above the tab to not mark the bumper. Come to think of it my 71 Firebird has the same tab to be used in a vertical slot like the one in the Riviera bumpers. One thing though the jack base from the Riv wouldn't fit the shape of the gear bar (Vertical portion of the jack with the teeth on it) The later model ones are like a tube, where as the Riv is more like an I-beam. I set up the A-body jack like I was going to use it on the Riv and everything looked like it would work, but I didn't use it. Looks fine in the trunk and I figured I wouldn't use it anyway, but I think I could. Tim
