GM/Reatta Window Sticker Error?

Regalization

Recommended Posts

Not including the 1988 early pilot car cloth seats (18x, 19x), I am led to believe that the order codes for all Reatta seats were as follows (please correct me if I am wrong):

98x = optional 16-way power driver seat

99x = standard power seats (driver & passenger, both six-way)

x = 1 for Blue, 3 for Gray, 6 for Saddle, etc.

I have seen several window stickers that follow this code format.

However, there is a 1990 window sticker (courtesy of Reatta.net) that seems to have an error:

090831_90_convertable.jpg

The sticker shows 996 as a 16-way seat.

Shouldn’t it be 986?

Was this an error? Or did codes change over the course of four production years? Does anyone know if this was a common error?

(Please excuse my interest in trivial details!) :)

Robert

Something is incorrect. 996 would be standard saddle seats, yet it says 16 way which would be code 986

If you own the car, you know if it has standard or 16 way seats. You could look at the Service Parts label and see what codes it has.

Ran the VIN through Compnine:
<tbody>
A80

ADJUSTER,SEAT BACK,POWER RECLINING,DRIVER(USED WITH BIARRITZ YP3) PWR RECL D/SEAT BACK ADJ(A80)

2,591
</tbody>
Why is the right and left sides different production numbers? (scroll over to see the production numbers)

According to AutoCheck the car was in Palm Bay, FL in 2009

A80 is for the drivers seat, and A81 is for the passenger seat. A Reatta delivered with 16-way seats should, in theory anyway, have all three RPOs (including AF9) on the SPID. Checked my window sticker and it has code 989 for 16-ways in garnet red.

FWIW, whatever database compnine uses is not infallible. I used to own a '90 Regal that was listed in compnine as a Regal Limited, whereas it was really a Regal Custom...

My 88 window sticker says 981 for the blue 16ways. It also says "suede"

SPI has

AF9 and AS6

A80 and A81 (power recline driver and passenger ?)

205 DK SAPPHIRE LEATHER INTERIOR

201 DK SAPPHIRE INTERIOR

204 DARK SAPPHIRE SEAT US SIERRA LEATHER/SUEDE

209 DK SAPPHIRE SEAT BELTS

and

CA1 SUNROOF, STEEL SLIDING

AFAIK it has the original seats which have no suede.
