sherwood3333
how do you get power from generator to battery on a 6 volt system on my 49 super? I only 2 wires on gen. a & f that go to the regulator, where does battery wire on regulator go to? how does the battery get charged?
Ben Bruce aka First Born
There should be a "B" terminal on the regulator. A wire from here goes to the Amp gauge or charge gauge, whichever yours is called. Then from this gauge to the post on the starter that has the positive battery cable attached. DonMicheletti
The "A" on the gen stands for armature and goes to the A at the regulator and it is the power for the battery. The regulator sends that to the ampmeter and then the battery if necessary. The "F" stands for field. The regulator sends a signal to that connection that tells the generator how much to charge.
