James B.
I hope people don't mind my bringing this back up since I see a few new Stutz participants here? Can anyone answer the question as to who designed the 1929-1931 production Stutz Black-Hawk chassis? And when did the car go into the planning and testing stages? Thanks! JohnBoyle
I can't help you with a designer, but The Splendid Stutz indicates it was shown to Stutz dealers in late 28 and introduced in early '29...so early 1928? You could also contact the co-author of that chapter, John Grunder, I'm told he is THE Blackhawk expert.
James B.
Going to contact Mr. Grunder, who is in his 80s now and doesn't seem to be on the Internet (email). I am hoping he will have some answers? I know this was a turbulent time for Stutz.Anyone else willing to take a stab at this question?ThanksJim
edinmass
I had lunch with Mr Grunder on Saturday, he is sharp and should be able to answer your questions. Give him a call.
