motoringicons
SOLD![TABLE=class: ecxtborder, width: 100%, align: center]<tbody style="line-height: 17px; ">[TR][TD=class: ecxalt1, bgcolor: #F2F2F2]This rare 1929 Model A Ford oval window business coupe is from the estate of noted Ford collector, historian and author George DeAngelis. George purchased the car many years ago from his close friend and co-author Edward Francis. George and Edward were the authors of famous reference books " The Model A Ford: As Henry Built It" and "The Early Ford V-8: As Henry Built it." George was a frequent and well respected contributor to many club periodicals including the AACA's Antique Automobile. This Model A has never seen any damage or repair. The body is about as straight as you will ever find. The fenders are just as smooth on the bottom as they are on the top. The car was probably restored 30 or 40 years ago. The restoration has aged gracefully and today the car still has a great look to it. The top is in excellent condition and the interior is very nice as well. After George purchased this car, he installed a rebuilt Model B engine. This was George's favorite car and he drove it everywhere. It is a veteran of many MARC National Meets where it was always driven, not trailered. It has been in storage the last five years. The car runs but it will require a good servicing and cleaning before being actively used. With a little work, this car will really clean up nice. It looks the way a Model A should look. A rare opportunity to purchase an unusual Model A body style with great ownership history. The VIN number is A2192808 and the car is located near Detroit, Michigan. The price is 17,000.00 and the car has a clear and current Michigan title. Terry Bond
Wow, that's my absolute favorite Model A body style. Sure wish I had room in my garage! And, being George's car, it's quite a piece of our hobby history too. Hope it finds a good home.Terry
motoringicons
Thanks. I know George would have wanted this car to be owned by another active AACA member. Edited June 9, 2015 by motoringicons (see edit history)
motoringicons
Just installed a rebuilt carburetor and gave the car a tune up. Drove it around this weekend and it is running well!
