Guest GORDON hALL
Did 51 Oldsmobile come undercoated from the factory or was it dealer applied. I showed it at a AACA National Show last year and the judge said I needed proof that it came from the factory undercoated. It was built in Mass. and was a Connecticut car all its life till I bought it. Edited April 2, 2015 by GORDON hALL (see edit history)
Guest myold88
Gordon- If the selling dealer in 1951 undercoated your Olds would the judge deduct points? Seems to me it's up to the showjudge to prove Undercoating was not installed by the factory OR by the original selling dealer. Imo if a dealer made changesbefore the car was delivered no deductions should be taken.......... Hope your enjoying that great original Olds 88. D Yaros
Applying a judging standard of "as delivered to the first owner," it would seem no deduct should be taken?
