West Peterson
I can't find which company used this type of trim on their roadsters. The car is parked in front of a Hudson dealership, which is located next to a Buick dealership, but I can't find that fancy door trim on either of those makes. The photo was taken in 1931. West Peterson
I wonder if that could just be paint.
trimacar
Some cars had flaps of leather that went over the door top, so that the driver or passenger wouldn't rub the paint off by resting their arm on it. I thought that might be the case here, but if so that means there's another metal piece above it, as there's yellow above the brown. That is, unless someone colorized the photo and took liberties with the color, in which case it might just be an artist's misconception.I've looked at a lot of makes and haven't find that factory detail yet...
