Guest bdames
My wife recently inherited a 1936 Buick. I runs but needs new brakes so I'm on the hunt for parts. I know it might seem like a stupid question but I just am not familiar. I see lots of listings for model "40" but not "41". When I search for parts I'm not sure what model to search.Could someone help me clarify. No bit of info is too small as this car is a family heirloom so I'd like to learn as much as possible about it.I really want to have it up and running for summer and need to get going... Mark Shaw
You have a 4 door 5 passenger sedan. Buick made 77,007 of that model, the most of any model that year. It was the first year for hydraulic brakes, turret top, and one of the most sought after beehive grilles.
DonMicheletti
'36 Buicks came in 3 series. 40, 60, 80 and maybe 90. Small, medium and large for the most part. The second digit, the "1" in your case says what body style it is, it is a 40 series model 41 sedan.sedan.I'm not a '36 expert, so others may correct me. The good news is that there is lots of information on these cars. Bobs Automobilia (http://bobsautomobilia.com/shop/) is a good source of parts and information

egor
You've got a sweet car. You shouldn't have a problem finding a shop that can fix the brakes. The parts are readily available, and brake technology didn't change much for a long time. The sooner you get this great old car running and you start to enjoy it with your family, the more you'll be motivated to learn more, and the sooner you'll realize what a gem you have! Please join BCA, and also consider joining the 36-38 Buick club. They often have meets in your general area.
