Rusty_OToole
You are welcome.I am not a Buick expert but I think 55 Buick had vacuum wipers. They had a vacuum pump in the engine, but will also work on vacuum from the intake manifold. You could check the vacuum hoses and see if they are in good condition. It can help to oil the wiper motor. Owen_Dyneto
I wouldn't use motor oil to lubricate the internals of the wiper motor, you risk damaging the paddle seal. Use either vacuum oil (Mobil sells a good one) or a very light silicone oil. Trico did publish instructions on how to introduce the oil into the motor. But perhaps the best thing to do is spend $100 and have Ficken Wiper Service rebuild the wiper motor; it will work excellent (assuming a good source of vacuum) and will give another half-century of performance.
