Jolly_John
Sure would like to find out what this nifty old tool did. It appears to measure some kind of pressure. When the little forked end is pushed on, it moves a spring-loaded indicator on the barrel of the tool, where the scale reads from 1/2 to 5 (something). The tool manufacturer is Pelouze Mfg. Co., Chicago. This item measures 11-1/2" overall, with the fork protruding 3-1/2" from the barrel. I thought it might be a windshield wiper arm tension gauge....but that's only my "guess". What do you folks think? I appreciate the help. And, thanks for looking. John

Jolly_John
Good guess, Roy. Thanks for weighing in. I just Googled "Pelouze Mfg. Co. Chicago", since their name seemed very familiar to me. Now I know why....they have been making measuring devices (especially weight-measuring scales) since the mid-1850's. I'm seen their name on the face of lots of old dial scales. Any other input on the purpose of this tool from other viewers? Thanks. John
