One thing I don't like about my Reatta

What is the deal with the oil filter placement on this car? Wow, what a nightmare. Is it just me? It is so hard to reach and all the normal oil filter removal tools just don't quite work. I had to take it to a local oil change place and they were nice enough to use the Mobil 1 I had already purchased. My father in heaven must have shed a tear at me actually paying someone to do an oil change :mad:

I know what you mean, since we have sister cars, mine is the same. However, sometime later in production they changed the oil filter adaptor and the filter is much easier to change (from under the car)

If you know what to look for the adaptors are plentiful at the pick-n-pulls.

Sounds like the same one I had in my '92 TranSport, was always a pain to reach the filter. 88-90 has a very simple to change PF-47. Thought about using a PF-51 for a while but didn't want a filter hanging below the "frame rail".

Thanks for clearing that up for me Barney, I thought it was just me. Next time I am at a pick a part I will look for that and a transmission cooler as well. I still have that as a mental note from another thread
