Restorer32 Posted February 11, 2015 Share Posted February 11, 2015 Mount one side of the tire on the rim, insert the tube, position the valve stem in the hole in the rim, screw on the valve tool. It's purpose is to keep the valve stem from disappearing down the hole while you finish mounting the tire. Growing up in Dad's tire shop I used these many many times. Dave Henderson Posted February 13, 2015 Share Posted February 13, 2015 With one bead of the tire on the rim and the tube inserted, I put the end of mine through the hole and attach it to the stem of the inner tube, then by pulling on the handle end of the chain which is on the outside of the rim it helps guide the stem to and through the hole.
