SOLD: Super Nice and Super Rare 1930 Packard 740 Custom Eight Rumble Seat Coupe

Recommended Posts

SOLD.

1930 Packard 740 Custom Eight Rumble Seat Coupe. This is an extremely rare car as very few rumble seat coupes were built on the large, 140 1/2" Custom Eight Chassis. It is believe that this is one of only four remaining examples known to have survived. This car is an excellent and well preserved older restoration that still looks great. The exterior paint is extremely clean showing only the expected amounts of wear but still presents extremely well top to bottom, front to rear. The interior, including the rumble seat is excellent. The body is rock solid and shows no signs of damage or abuse. The doors and hood fit the body with even gaps and margins. The car sits and looks right from all angles and has a great overall presence and appearance. The car runs and drives well and the original 384 cid/106 horsepower engine propels the car down the road with all the ease and power expected from a large series Packard. This car was sold new in San Jose, California and still retains its original data plate. It has recently spent time in a prominent, New England collection. The chassis number is 184722 and the engine number is 184879. The car is located near Cleveland, Ohio and is realistically priced at 79,500.00-a fair price for a rare and ready to enjoy, Full CCCA Classic Packard. Wow, great find!

And near Cleveland? How have I not seen this car before? Impressive car at a very reasonable price. There's a lesser 633 coupe for the past few months at Hemmings.com for 70% more money, making this look like one hell of a bargain.
