Guest Morris Commercial 1927
I have a 1927 Morris commercial that needs new camshaft bearings. The old ones were white metal in brass. Can i use brass or sintered bronze or X-Lube bearings to replace the old white metal bearings. What tolerances should i use for pressing in bearing and what tolerance for cam shaft to bearing? Engine Max RPM is 1500RPM.brian.
Owen_Dyneto
For the shaft-to-bearing tolerance I don't see why the old standard rule of thumb wouldn't apply, 0.001" for each 1 inch of diameter.
Guest Morris Commercial 1927
Thanks Owen Any thoughts on which bearing material would be best for an engine running at max 1500rpm straight bronze, sintered bronze or X-Lube bearings.
