trimacar Posted February 1, 2015 Share Posted February 1, 2015 Neat item...I've run across a few searchlights over the years that were nautical in design and build....yours would have had a very nice cast brass mounting fork, and probably a handle on the back, so look for marks where the handle might have been.....without those parts it's not worth a huge amount...maybe a couple hundred dollars, maybe slightly more....it would have been used around the same time car lights were gas, probably teens or twenties....soon after lights were electric and few wanted to fool with acetylene generators or tanks... Early motorcycle lights were small diameter, no over 6 or 7 inches.....yes, it could be used on an early car, but usually naval on the light is self explanatory....
