How to insert a photo.

How you you insert a photo in the for sale section? I am computer dumb so I need a step by step. Thanks

Try this....if you still have trouble, send them to me and I will post them for you.

O.K...I don't know how much you DO know about it so excuse me if I am being simple. First of all others may do this differently than I do.

1-Make certain that the pixel sizes of your photo is 2000 pixels or less in BOTH directions.

2-When you start a new post, below the message box is the "additional options" area.

3-Inside that area you should see the "manage attachments" box.

4-Click on that.

5-A box will come up and inside there you should see a box that says, "add files".

6-Click on that.

7-A box will come up that says, "select files".

8-Click on that.

9-Go to the photo you want to post and click on it.

10-It will go into a box where you should see "upload files".

11-Click on that.

12-Wait for the photo to load and pop up in the lower left corner of the box.

13-When you see it, exit that box by clicking on the red box with the white "X" in the upper right corner of the box.

14-Scroll down to see "submit new thread".

]I reduce picture size this way; others may use a different technique:

1. Right click on picture, choose 'copy'. I always manipulate the copy of my pictures rather than the originals 'just in case'.

2. Paste the copy back into your picture file. You should now have 2 of the same picture, the original and the copy.

3. Right click on the copy, choose 'open with' and then 'Paint'.

4. When the copy is opened with Paint, go to pushbuttons on that page (either 'image' or 'view'...I forget which) and choose 'resize/skew' from the drop-down menu.

5. Change horizontal and vertical size from 100% to something smaller (usually 70% works to get pictures down to a size this website will take).

5. 'x-out' of picture. You should get a dialog box that says 'save changes?'. Hit yes.

When posting pictures, upload the copy which is now smaller than the original. I hope this was clear.

Also, be aware that once you post a picture to this website, it never can be deleted. There have been numerous posts asking how to delete a photo once it's uploaded, and no-one knows how to do it.

If I send two pictures and you reduce them and send them to me how do you post them on the site? I am doing this to sell two cars. Thanks

If you send them to me I can determine if they are too large and reduce them. I can send them back to you in their reduced form. Then you can do as stated in post #2 above and post them into a for sale post in the Buy and Sell section of the forum.
