pinstripping spokes.

Friend recently had striped some early wheels. See if I can describe, not the same for every car but a typical pattern.

One or two circular stripes on hub.

One or two circular stripes on felloe.

Each spoke, two stripes starting close to the hub, following the curves of the base of the spoke, then joining to one stripe most of the length of the spoke.

I'll see if I can find a picture, if description isn't clear.

These are very fine pinstripes, NOT a big wide honker of a stripe....the purpose was to accent, not overwhelm...

Here is the example of what we had done on our former 1914 Buick

Click once, and maybe twice on the photo to see enlarged picture

Single stripe on the felloe,

Single stripe on each spoke, splitting toward hub

Single stripe on hub

"DOT" on each bolt/Rivet holding hub

.... hope this helps with our idea

Yes, what Marty shows is what I described and is typical..sometimes with two stripes on felloe and/or hub instead of the one shown... .typical with the exception of the dots.....which are an interesting touch but don't think you'd see in any period photo...
