Guest 39DodgeD11
Hey guys, since ive gotten my D11 up and running again ive noticed that the linkage from steering wheel to transmission that allows the shifter to be pushed fwd for R, 2nd and 3rd gear is very sticky or gummed up etc. because theres a lot of the time when i go from 1st to 2nd it wont allow me to engage 2nd gear until i wait for the little rod to SLOWLY extend or retract back to where i can engage those gears, makes it very hard/annoying to drive car, does it ESPECIALLY bad when car has been sitting OR when its cool/cold out. I can put car into 1st gear and go back to neutral and just freely move shift lever back and forth with no resistance until that rod slowly moves back into position. What do i need to do to get this freely moving again in all temperatures and not have to try and fight car to shift into the gears i need. Joe Cocuzza
Maybe the shifter rod bushing is worn out. It can cause stickingAlso, the linkage may need a slight adjustment.
timmer117
I soaked Cable with WD 40 that helped. Watch Ebay for a shifter bushing repair kit. They were offered back in the day. The kit consists of about 6 small pieces. Keep it well lubricated when you get it freed up.
