SOLD SOLD SOLD

This is a really nice and properly restored 1940 Ford Standard Coupe. When was the last time you saw a standard coupe that hasn't been improperly converted to a deluxe? This coupe spent most of its life in Arizona and California. The west coast was certainly kind to this coupe. If you know 1940 Fords, you know that it is what is underneath that counts. The frame, doors, subframe, floor pans, trunk pan etc on this car are not only all Henry Ford original steel, but have never been repaired, rusted or molested in any way. This car was given a cosmetic restoration about 15 years ago. The body was so straight that the restorer decided to paint the car black since there were no sins to hide. The paint still looks great with only some minor flaws from being enjoyed and driven. The car was fully re-upholstered in a period correct cloth, all the chrome and stainless items either restored or replaced, new glass, new weather stripping, new running boards, fully restored dash, etc. Today, the car still looks great from all angles and presents well inside and out. The most recent owner wanted this car to be a long distance driver so the car was recently given a thorough and exacting mechanical restoration. The correct engine was rebuilt by noted flathead engine expert Rex Hutchison. While it looks stock on the outside, it was carefully massaged on the inside to be a smooth, well balanced, strong running machine. It has been fitted with an discreetly hidden and upgraded 6V charging system, a Mallory distributor and dual exhaust-other than that, the engine is totally stock. The transmission and clutch were completely rebuilt, the entire braking system was rebuilt, the steering precisely rebuilt and adjusted, and Coker blackwall radial tires were installed on newly restored, original wheels. In recent years, the car has made trips from Northern California to Reno and back and has climbed the Sierras and Donner Pass on more than one occasion without overheating or vapor locking. Needless to say, all functions work including the radio and heater. It is probably one of the nicest early Ford V-8s I have driven-and I have driven lots of them! It would make a moonshiner proud.

This car simply looks right, sits right and drives right. The price is an extremely reasonable 39,000.00 and the car is located in Jefferson, WI. Please call 734-730-4274 or email: motoringicons@hotmail.com for more information. Thank you.
