To me, skirts look "right" on certain cars, such as your 1956 Ford Fairlane Town Sedan. In fact, the body lines probably were the precursor for the 1957 Mercury "Turnpike Cruiser" full-length skirts.

I think they look right on my 1941 Caddy

and my 1954

and 1970 Caddys

But I really prefer the factory open design of the rear fender on the 1937 Buick Roadmaster 80C Phaeton

Skirts are right for some

Not for others

Fenderskirts? If you want a real heated discussion start one on sidemounts!

how about this '39 Rolls?

with side mount;

no side mount;null_zps3d245198.jpg

side mounts nor fender skirts would look right on this ;

I think fender skirts could almost make a Ford look like a Cadilac.

you know... your right !!!

With skirts.. You can't tell the difference !!
