BYmechanic
I am in the process of wiring my 1932 Chevrolet. A wiring diagram in the back of my Chevrolet manual shows the system as negative ground. Is this correct, as my Ford for the same era is positive ground. trimacar
Yes, negative ground is correct. Make sure you use heavy 6 volt cable, and the best thing is to run a ground wire directly from battery to a starter mounting bolt, the path for electricity through an old frame can be tortuous! BYmechanic
Thanks for confirming the polarity connections and tips. Makes you wonder though about jump starting a Chev from a Ford of the same era as the Fords were positive ground.
stude1946
Shouldn't be a problem as long as the vehicles aren't touching each other. GMC use positive ground for quite awhile while Chevy used negative ground.
