John
Hey Tom,Here's a couple of pix of the dashpad----66 or 67?
RivNut
I'll chime in here until Tom sees this, but I'm going to say '67. I had one of each and from what I recall, the '67 has more of a blunt edge on it than the '66 did, the '66's came to more of a point. Otherwise, they're the same.Ed
1965rivgs
Thanks John and Ed. I concur with Ed but my eye is not sharp enough re the second gen cars so I dont feel I can make a firm assessment without some perspective, as in a pic of the pad installed in the interior. Can someone else who is more familiar with the second gen cars make an observation? Jason, Darwin? Thanks, Tom
JZRIV
66/67 pads can be difficult to tell from pictures. Pretty sure you have a 66 pad. If you take an approximate measurement on the leading edge/face or point closest to passengers it should be about 5/8" wide on a 66. This is a rough dimension because the corners have a radius but is defined enough to eyeball the tape measure. The 67 pads are much thicker in this area probably 1.5" or so with bigger/smoother radius's. You can sort of see the difference in attached pic of a 67. Can't recall the reference document where I saw it but believe this change of increased padding/frontal surface area being made in 67 was for safety reasons.66/67 pads are a direct fit functional interchange.
