JoelsBuicks
The pic below is my '31 ignition switch. I do have a key that works and I also have the lever and electrical part in the back. My question is how do I remove the key cylinder? Somebody once told me to never poke a skunk but I'd like to take this apart for proper cleaning, lube and painting. Thanks,Joel
Dave_B
Joel, The hole that is full of lead has a tapered pin in it that holds the lock cylinder in. You have to remove the lead, drill a hole in the pin and pull it out with an easy-out or screw extractor. At least that's what I did. I was able to find a replacement tapered pin at the hardware store for reassembly. Dave
