Door activated switch

I am trying to troubleshoot a battery draw down. In searching I found a door activated switch (not the entry light switch which is located on the door post near the hinges). This is the same kind of switch but it is on the rear of the door located on the post there. Does anyone have an idea what this switch is for?

I believe it's the door ajar switch

I just pulled the seat belts in one and they have a cable running there. No electrical connection though.
