Guest KS-Competition
HeyNeed to know the power of the wiper motor (in watts) on the 65 Riviera. My resistance for the Hi andLo speed are broken and needs to be replaced. I know it is a 20 Ohm but I need to know how manywatts it needs to take.Anybody who knows those numbers?ThanksKrister
arnulfo de l.a.
E/R=IE=voltsR=resistance ( ohms)I= current ( amps)P=E X IP=power (watts)12 volts/ 20 ohms= .6 amps.6amps X 12volts = 7.2 wattssuerte arnulfo

There is a drawing of the circuit it there. Is the resistor you are going to replace inside the motor housing?

I have the workshop manual and know thatit is a 20 Ohm resistance but I was confused when I was looking for a new one as the catalog said for example 20 Ohm / 1,5 w or 20 Ohm / 40 w. Thats why I thought I might need the power outputof the wiper motor but I guess not. Thanks guys.Krister
mgregory54
So what did you finally install? I have the same problem, the hi speed resistor is busted. Am assuming there is a resistor out there that could be used in place of the metal wound ceramic that originally came with it? Thanks, Mark
