55 Headlight wiring

Does anyone know how far the cloth wire covering extends past the inner fender? Mine were junk.

I'll take a picture of mine tomorrow in the daylight and post.

Of the five I have in the garage right now, the general consensus is an inch or two beyond (toward the center of the car) the wire retaining clip. They are all literally different, even my restored car is different from side to side.

I am having trouble with photobucket so I can't take a pic.
