Tachometer

I bought a 1989 8v with only 9,500 miles. It has probably been sitting a lot. The tach does not go back to zero when it is not running. It rests at about 1100 RPM's. When running it seem to be OK. I noticed that some TCs shown on ebay seem to have the same problem. (I assume they are not running because the ammeter is at zero.) Is this normal?

When I got it the gas gage was about half. I filled it up and it went to empty. Later it seemed to be OK.

I finished reinstalling the seats after repairing the power seat controls today. I appreciate all the help I got from the Forum.
