Curti
There are no makers mark on the backside of the lens. However the size is: 7 1/16 x 6 1/2 .They came to me with a pair of Electroline headlights which they are not a part of. I would suspect the era of 1937-1939. Any help is appreciated. Curti
I bought a 1937 Guide Universal catalog #806 and there is nothing in there that is 7 1/16 x 6 1/2. They are probably something 1938 or 1939. Does any one have any ideas ?
auburnseeker
37-38 Chevy comes to mind. Do you have a part number anywhere's on the lens? Sometimes it's on the very edge of a tab or right front under the logo. I have a 40 Guide catalog that also lists other lenses. If you can come up with even part of a number that might work. Sometimes they ground part of the number off in the manufacturing process.
Curti
Randy, there are no other numbers on the lens. There is the word TOP, but that doesn't count. In my previous life when I sold pre-war Chevy parts, It was my experience that all Chevy 32-39 lenses were marked 'Chevrolet' prominently on the outside upper center of the lens. I don't know what the rest of GM did.
drwatson
It looks like Motorcycle size range. My AUTOLITE lens catalog of mid to late 30's has extensive lens listings by dimension. Unfortunately "7 1/16 x 6 1/2" does not appear on the list. Harley & Indian were listed with a slightly smaller size.
Curti
The flat spot on the lens and reflector have got to be some kind of a clue.
auburnseeker
Pretty similar to these and these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1936-CHEVROLET-NEW-NORS-HEADLIGHT-LENSES-1937-39-CHEVROLET-TRUCK-1937-38-GMC-/171576794425?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27f2c61d39&vxp=mtrhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/1936-CHEVROLET-NEW-NORS-HEADLIGHT-LENSES-1937-39-CHEVROLET-TRUCK-1937-38-GMC-/171576794425?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27f2c61d39&vxp=mtrI sold some late this summer and they just timed out of the ebay system. I think one of the Chevy ones I had didn't have Chevrolet on them. Possibly because they fit a bunch of trucks as well.
