It's for a 1933 PD Plymouth not a PC. The PC was not a removable cap like this one. The PC had the 1st Chrysler Corp. hood ornament with the actual rad cap inside on the rad as we do today. Possibly an industry 1st,I've never been sure. The PA and PB also used this removable cap BUT the body of the mermaid is lower to the cap body. This body shows the longer waist and is therefore for a late '33 PD.

I believe it was Plymouth and Essex that started the hidden cap in 1933. Here is the Essex....

It looks to me like it should stay on the car it is on, it looks right.

It looks "right" because it looks VERY similar to the correct cap for the car. The correct item has a slightly shorter torso and a few other detail differences.

But it's not right. The previous owner preferred the '33 cap over the correct one. I don't understand why, the PA mascot is beautiful. Luckily, I found the spare I had stashed away.
