Using a 1951 front fender on a 1950 Chevy Sedan

I am looking for some expert guidance before I jump off the cliff on this fender.

I have a 1950 Styleline Special 2 door sedan. the passenger side front fender had a large dent near the headlight area that we found filled with bondo when we stripped the paint. The headlight bucket mounting area is all messed up and the headlight does not fit properly.

I found and bought a NOS 1951 fender.

It appears to me that I have to rework the horizontal parking light area of the 51 fender and fill a couple and drill a couple grill mounting holes.

I am wondering of anyone has ever done this before and is there more to it than I am thinking.

I have never done it, but you have both parts in front of you and I think you are in the best position to assess this job.
