southpaw52
Hi all,I know this may sound like I'm on the wrong forum, but the link given in the NPR article that I found here ( https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10153006799826756.1073741832.10643211755&type=1 ) takes you to this page http://photogrammar.yale.edu/ which takes you to an interactive, searchable database of photos taken from 1935 to 1945 all over the country. Why is this important here? You can search for "Automobile" or any other term and pull up pictures taken over a specific time frame or in a particular county and state. I don't believe you can say "Buick" or "Ford", but I did not try. So, bottom line, I'm sharing in case anyone is interested. It might just have that particular angle or image you've been looking for on a car like yours!!Have fun.Southpaw (aka- Anne)
TG57Roadmaster
Thanks Anne for the link, there's a lot of great prewar and wartime conversion imagery there. I looked up counties where I've lived and it's interesting to see how the photogs saw them back then. They went to Kenosha County, WI, and the only images are of cheese markets on US 41! Couldn't see the Nash Plant for all the cheese, I guess.Very cool,TG
Woodfiddler
Thanks Anne - I just lost 2+ hours roaming states and counties and searching various words at the photogrammer link. By the way: I'm not done there either! Thanks for a great link!
