Guest davidc1966
Hi Folks, I am having a problem I am hoping someone may be able to assist me with. Two of my door latches have a broken pot metal cam in them. It appear that the cam is stamped in into the latch assembly and is the part that bolts onto the exterior door handle to open and close the door. Does anyone make a repair part for this or should I be looking for a new latch? Any help is always appreciated.
Pete Phillips
I think you need to look for replacement door latches. I'm not aware of any repair kit for them. Used door latches for '49s are not too hard to find. Just don't try looking for any of them with the longer shaft that the wood-bodied '49 wagons require (!). JohnD1956
I would go with what Pete says, but , can you post a picture of the parts and latches? I can't envision what you have described. Just in case someone has an idea of how they can be fixed.
