Guest wheelsport
Hi all, I just purchased a '89 yellow TC (#1313) that was advertized as a low milage car (53K). The female owner claims to be the second owner and gave me some newsletters and info from the TC club. The car looks good and is very nice but when I opened the hood, I knew it had a lot more miles than is on the speedo. From the wear on the gas pedal I'd say it has at least 120K. Of coarse the odometer is dis-functional. I would say that broken odometers is why there are a lot of low milage TC's being advertized. I own an '88 LeBaron that had the same odometer problem. I know what to do to fix the odometer. Thanks to this forum I now know how to get access to the speedo. The engine runs strong but makes a loud crunching sound on start-up in the area of the drive belts, that goes away after a few minutes. When warm there is still a growl in the area of the timing belt. I'm guessing a bad idler. This forum has a large wealth of info!
