Gary_Ash
I'm looking for front and rear engine mount plates from a 221 or 250 cu in straight 8 engine, 1929-32. The front one (models FC, FD, 61, 62, 70, 71) is cast, the rear one (models FC, FD, 61, 70 and early 62 and 71 cars) is a flat plate with two right-angle brackets riveted on. These were used to mount the engine directly to the frame rails. The rear plate is between the block and bell housing. They should look like the ones on this 1929 Commander 8. What have you got? rbk
GaryI have an 1932 Dictator 8 engine. Can these plates be unbolted or does it require an engine disassembly.Robert Kapteyn
Gary_Ash
Bob:The rear one requires that the bell housing and flywheel be removed. The front one probably requires that the front pulley and vibration damper be pulled. I guess I was hoping that someone already had an engine apart. rbk
On my engine , the trans is off.Come on over it is only 1000 miles.I am too old to take these off but maybe there is a volunteer. From what I remember is that the cast iron front mount is broken.Robert Kapteynhttp://www.studebakerstore.com/Studebakerstore.com/Welcome.html
