Peter P
I am sure someone on here knows something about this Studebaker truck. What I am interested in finding out is how it was built. The doors and cab specifically. If anyone knows the current owner or knows of a build thread for this truck please advise.
dictator27
It was built by Studebaker for use by dealers. Fairly common practice at the time as other auto makers did it, too.Terry
Peter P
Thanks Terry. I assumed this was one of the farmer built pickups that had been redone especially well. I an find these photos on google but no further info on the build. Looks like they took doors off a sedan.
bifda
I would be surprised if this was produced by Studebaker, as it looks like a cut down Sedan. In fact I have just done some searching on google and found this report in Hemmings stating that it was a cut down GE sedan, see: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2013/07/20/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1928-studebaker-dictator-pickup/Wayne
Peter P
I wonder if anyone has the article from the Antique Studebaker magazine?
studeq
No, this was not a factory built unit. The story of its history and restoration was carried in an extensive article in the March/April 2007 issue of The Antique Studebaker Review. I have an extra copy for $10 postpaid. If interested send a p.m.
