project61
HI, the infamous boattail speedster is done (except for fenders) and legal for road use. I have been using the digital speedo that we use in rally work, because when I went to hook up the dash speedo's cable , I found no driven gear in the transmission to receive it! By the shop manual, it's an AC part, #848125, with 23 teeth. Does anyone have one or know where I might find one? Thanks, folks,jc

Pat_n_Pat
John:Try Globe Classic car parts in Fresno, CA. We will be going there on Thursday on our way home from Arizona (We need a new transmission for our Buick). Is the same gear used on other Buicks? My Hollanders is at home so I can't look it up. I may have the one I removed from our speedster.Pat
Bob Engle
I checked my junk pile and couldn't find a speedo gear. I'll keep looking, but doubt that I have one. I would try Mac Blair. I've seen the cable assemblies on his table at the Hershey swap meet.Be very careful with the diecast housing assembly at the transmission. They are easy to break.Bob Engle

Pat_n_Pat
John:Is this the type of gear you are looking for? http://antiquespeedometer.com/partinventory.php?cat=d1e14a993cacb2e20a5ca39a2d7876b5I know that the number does not match what you need. I may have another source to check.Pat
