I'M WORKING ON A 1958BUICK CENTURY ?.(i think)

MY QUESTION IS THIS: I HAVE A SMALL OIL LEAK ON THE RIGHT SIDE IN THE REAR OF THE MOTOR??.:(

THERE IS A SMALL TUBE COMING OUT OF THE PAN AND GOES UP THEN STOPS:confused:. IT IS HARD TO SEE BUT CAN OIL COME OUT OF THIS TUBE AND IF SO WHAT MIGHT I HAVE TO CHECK OUT??:confused:

I'm sure it's(well pretty sure) motor oil it's kinda brown.:P

I think this is the same as a 1957 Buick. On these Buicks, the vacuum pump is on the oil pump. The tube coming out of the side of the pan is the vacuum port should be connected to the wiper vacuum circuit with a vacuum hose. There should not be any oil coming out of this tube. If so, you need to rebuild the oil/vacuum pump.

hey dave

a member after my heart!:) that's really not what i wanted to hear but there is oil coming out the tube:(. so my next question can i block it off and still run the motor???:confused: or will it not feed the motor oil. :confused: the oil gauge does show pressure.????:o.
