joe_padavano
Hi, folks, Dropped down from above with a question. What year, if at all, did Olds first offer a computer controlled, no vac adv, distributor. Thanks BenThis is actually a trick question. The first Oldsmobile with an electronic ignition but without a vacuum advance was actually the 1977 Toronado with the MIcro-processed Sensing And Regulation (MISAR) crank-trigger ignition system. I suspect however that you are really asking about the 260/307 motors with the Computer Command Control system, in which case these were built from the 1981 through the 1990 model years. cheezestaak2000
the ccc system first showed up in the middle of the 1980 model year. they were a nightmare, everytime the check engine light came on, it either wanted a vss or an o2 sensor. the first recall on it involved the map sensor if i remember correctly.
