Bill Stoneberg
Some of the parts I got recently were a pair of 1 gauge cables for my battery and new bigger ground strap. My 1950 Super has always turned over slowly and when it was hot it had to cool before it would cranks. Not any more, it turns over like my modern car. Have not tried it hot yet but that is the plans for today.I wish I would have done this a long time ago.
Mark Shaw
Two 12 volt cables for each battery connection will also work if you cannot find heavy cables at your local auto parts store...
Guest buickkuhn
It seemed funny to me that my car turned over slow also (when I first got it ) so had checked out by a friend that worked on antique auto's . Still slow , so replaced the positive cable to battery but kept the original ground . 2 years ago rebuilt my voltage regulator after my nephew left the ignition on in my buick . No he isn't supposed to play in it with out me there , but when I re-installed voltage regulator and had a charged battery (long skinny 6 volt from tractor supply ) . It started like a champ . Then a month later went back to slow cranking .Then this winter going to rebuild the engine and found the ground cable bolted to the motor (which I have cleaned in the past ) loose inside the soldered end . I can't wait to drive this baby next year , all the little thinks fixed along with rebuilt motor . I feel your enthusiasm
TexRiv_63
The bigger the better for any 6 volt system.
