Trunk Lid for 1949 Buick Roadmaster 76C

I need a decent straight lid to replace lid on my convertible - I believe the fourdoor or Riviera lid will work too. I am located in Texas.

Also: I believe there were two possible lids for the convert, an "early" one that had a lower profile, and a "later" one that was higher and boxier for more trunk volume; the latter appears to be the more common one.

There are 1 and second type. Super Conv.4567=56C will fit, Roadmaster 4767=76C will fit, and Roadmaster Riviera 4737=76R will fit.

But there also seems to be a different hinge on the late models too.To be sure take a look at any 1950s parts book.

Thanks Leif and everyone. It is the latter boxy type. Mine got smashed in an enclosed trailer by the shipper. I still need one if anyone out there has one. From a Super or a Roadmaster rag-top

There was, in fact, an early and a late trunklid for a '49 Roadmaster, and the trunk handles do not interchange. The early trunklid may have been shared with a '48 as it looked like a '48, but it did not allow enough trunk space, so during the year they brought out a higher somewhat squared off trunk lid so as to make stacking luggage easier.

There is a 1949 Riviera being parted out - ad - on Kansas City Craigs List, under Auto Parts.

Seems to be in very short supply. I have found one rusty lid and am not enthused about it. Are you guys positive the four door won't fit? Looks the same to me. Someone mentioned a 1948 lid as well.

Positive. If you have a rusty lid, you might could cut/weld portions from a 4dr lid to the convertible lid. Welcome to 40's convertible ownership!

I don't think it fits but I have a 1946 to 1948 Buick convertible trunk lid.
